Financial support was provided by Municipal District Tverskoy. If you feel like painting walls or would like to join our other projects, please, write to our e-mail address and we will let you know dates of coming events. |

On September 29 children from boarding school #31 visited Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. An exceptional guide, and art historian Anna Chudetskaya showed us around the Egyptian hall with its mysterious statues, mummies and sarcophaguses as well as bas-relieves of warlike ancient Assyrians and graceful ancient Greek statues. This excursion continued our cooperative project “World open for everyone” with Pushkin Museum, which is funded by Children’s Fund UNO UNICEF. Most of the children from boarding school #31 are not orphans and live at home with their parents but they have to attend a special school because of cerebral palsy and other diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Not every parent is capable of bringing to the museum a child who walks with difficulty. That is why it was the first visit to this museum for all our children. Yet many of them study ancient history at school this year, so the excursion will help them to enhance their knowledge and enjoy true art.

On September 22 with children from the orphanage #28 we visited Zoological Museum of Moscow State University. Its unique collection consists of various exhibits – animals of land and sea. Children especially liked tropical butterflies and starfish, and looked at snakes, sharks and crocodiles with a mixture of admiration and horror. After the museum there was another surprise – a meal at McDonalds. We are thankful to Children’s Fund UNO UNICEF for funding the tour. |
