At the beginning of September we took part in the
Want-to-Walk charitable project. This event was held by Artist Foundation founded by actors Evgeniy Mironov and Maria Mironova to assist elderly actors (veterans). This foundation also provides help for children. We became friends with this Foundation since it was started and took part in some events (for example, Red Noses in 2009, etc.). We also wanted to help orphans and people who can’t walk.
The goal of this project is to raise funds to send children and young people, who can’t walk, to American hospital Scottish Right, Texas, for free operation and prosthetics. Two wonderful doctors from this hospital (Dr. Comings and Dr. Herrings) visited Moscow from September 2 till 7 and examined children from Moscow and Moscow Region orphanages. Children from orphanage # 28 were examined in our studio. The members of studio helped us to receive and accompany children, drew pictures with them and prepared for the Want-to-Walk charitable auction. Seriozha Isakhanyan drew a special picture with soaring doves-palms and Sona Stepanyan and Masha Dermichiova designed trainers as a symbol of this charitable event. We tried very hard for the children’s dream to be able to walk became true. Maria Yelisseyeva presented our collective painting “Small Ship of Our Hopes”, and it was a debut on the stage for her tiny little daughter Elya. In the hall of Theater School of Drama many famous actors and people of art got together to support the project, which continue to raise funds to send children to the States to make their wish to be able to walk come true. We were happy to make our contribution. It could be that the first one for the trip will be Sasha Pokhilko. |
