Clowning Visitors are in Moscow again
Every year from November the 8th till the 14th clowns of Doctor Patch Adams come to visit us in Moscow. People of different age and qualification from the States, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, Great Britain, Australia and other countries, from Russian cities of Tyumen and St. Petersburg got together for a week to visit hospitals and institutions for children and adults, to meet with patients, to bring them joy and warmth of hearts and smiles.

Unfortunately, many institutions for children, which they used to visit before, were closed at this period due to the flue epidemic. However, they managed to visit some hospitals in Moscow Region and even got to Tula Region.

During their time in Moscow our friends clowns visited a tuberculosis sanatorium and Malakhovka Rehabilitation Centre, Filatov Hospital and Russian children’s clinical hospital, boarding school #80 and orphanage for the deaf-blind in Sergiyev Possad, First Moscow hospice and Gremyacheye rural district hospital in Tula region, where 85 elderly people live. They were clowning in Arbat street and visited many gravely ill children at their homes, also visited our studio.

Sona Stepanyan on her trip to Gremyacheye: Just imagine a slim elderly lady in a headscarf and a shabby dressing gown in bed blowing soap bubbles, smiling. It was a short time together but I will treasure it forever and hopefully she will too. When leaving, I kissed her hand and she gave me a hug and started crying softly.

Clowns left Moscow and went to St. Petersburg for a week. We look forward to their next visit in November next year. Thank you, volunteers for your active clowning and help to clowns during home visits.

We are thankful to Katerina City Hotel and Rosinter Restaurants corp. for the price reduction. Many thanks to Man Company for taking clowns from the hotel to the railway station by bus for free.
